The use of “two-dimensional” arrays of multiple probes for parallelised nanolithography relies on the accurate alignment of the probe array with the substrate for printing. As a result all probes must come into contact with the surface simultaneously upon initiation of lithography. This software provides the rapid, accurate and automated alignment of a probe array, in conjunction with the hardware control software provided by Nanosurf. The automation enables the alignment of the array of probes within minutes with no user intervention. Thus, facilitating the generation of features over large (cm2) areas while maintaining nanoscale resolution with high uniformity.

Minimum Requirements

This software is written for use with a Nanosurf FlexAFM mounted on a motorised 5-axis (XYZΘΦ) translation and goniometer stage. See: http://www.nanosurf.com/?content=CS03

The instrument hardware should be controlled by a PC with the Windows 7 operating system. In addition the following software and files are needed:

  • Nanosurf C3000 Controller software
  • Futek Sensit (https://www.futek.com/sensit/overview.aspx)
  • DLL files (in the appropriate related folder once the Nanosurf and Futek is configured)
  • This Automatic Alignment software (Auto Alignment 0.15.0.0.exe)
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Excel template file (Alignment Template.xlsx)

Installation Instructions

-------------------------------

This AFM alignment software is developed for Windows 7.

If you have LabVIEW installed on your PC: copy "absolute_control_sensor19" folder to your desired destination folder, and run "Application.exe". You can create a shotcut on the desktop or start menu for convenient access.

If you do not have LabVIEW installed on your PC: You will need to install some additional software components. Run "setup.exe" in the "My Installer v19/volume" folder. Then choose "next" until the installation is completed. Before closing the installation window, click the "Explore" button and you will be directed to the folder where "Application.exe" is installed. You can create a shotcut on the desktop or start menu for convenient access. In this step, LabVIEW Run-Time Engine is also automatically installed on your PC which allows you running the alignment program without installing a full version of LabVIEW.
